LiveScore Daily: Solanke and Emery scoop Premier League awards

Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke and Aston Villa’s Unai Emery have been named as the Premier League’s Player and Manager of the Month.

Solanke, 26, bagged six goals in December and is the first Cherries player to win the award.

He is now on 12 goals for the season two behind Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

“But he did well again. I actually think he did well in every game he played for us and as you say, strikers have a duty to score goals and yes, it was a good moment for him to score his first goal for the club, especially at home. But apart from that, overall he did well in the team.”

“I think he’s a complete centre-forward who played a big role for us today as a link-up forward because we knew Brentford would be very aggressive in man-to-man marking and he would have to keep the ball so we could create.”

For Solanke, he moved to Spurs from Bournemouth last summer for £60m and has made four appearances, scoring once.
